MEET OUR DOCTORS
Dr. Eliza Sundahl
Dr. Sundahl started at the KC Cat Clinic in 1978 and became owner in 1979. She has been happily working with the wonderful clients and patients at the clinic ever since. She feels like she has the best job in the world.
She completed her veterinary studies at Kansas State University after graduating from Boston University. She has spent an inordinate amount of her professional life promoting feline medicine. She has held many positions in The American Association of Feline Practitioners, including 2 years as president. She was involved in establishing board certification in feline medicine through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners and worked with that organization for many years to help veterinarians through the certification process.
Away from the vet world, she has been involved with her son’s school and activities. He’s moved onto college and she’s enjoying learning more about gardening and cooking. She shares her home with Babycat, Ferrous, Boo, and Angelo and the clinic with Cookie, Boo (another one) and Mama.
Dr. Ellen Gloor
Dr. Gloor originally came to KC Cat Clinic in 1988 to work for Dr. Sundahl as a vet assistant while working on a degree in Biology at UMKC. In the four years as an assistant, Dr. Gloor realized her desire to continue in the veterinary field and got her DVM degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1996. After living and practicing veterinary medicine in Houston, TX, Springfield, MO and Tucson, AZ, Dr. Gloor returned to Kansas City in 2003 and was fortunate enough to be able to come full circle and work for Dr. Sundahl in 2004, this time as a veterinarian. Although she enjoyed practicing veterinary medicine on canine companions, her greatest love is the kitties!
When not playing with kitties at the clinic, Dr. Gloor enjoys being out at the barn with her husband watching their 10-year-old daughter ride her hunter/jumper horse B.J. The three also share their home with 4 dogs, 4 cats and a hamster. When spare time allows, Dr. Gloor also enjoys cooking, and she is trying to learn guitar.
Dr. Susan Rose
Dr. Rose began working at the KC Cat Clinic in 1984, four months after graduating from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and 2 months after her first baby was born. As a life long lover of cats, it was her dream job. Seven years and 3 more babies later, she left the clinic to be a full time mom. After years as a Girl Scout Leader and PTA president, she got the wonderful opportunity to return to her dream job. She thinks there is nothing better than having a job you love while learning from the best. For the past 6 years, she has performed the surgeries and dental procedures at the clinic. She enjoys attending continuing education conferences to learn the latest information and techniques. All of her children are in college now and she fills her time with sewing, knitting, and volunteering. She shares her home with her husband of 27 years and numerous cats and dogs.
Dr. Wasmer
Dr. Wasmer began working at the KC Cat Clinic in the fall of 2002 as a part time veterinarian. After graduating from Kansas State University in 1989, she worked as a full time associate for 10 years at two small animal practices in the southern Johnson County area. She switched to part time work after the birth of her daughter in 1999 and was overjoyed to find work at the cat clinic soon after her son was born. She believes the KC Cat Clinic is the perfect(or purrfect!) place for her as she finds the staff and other veterinarians to be the best she's worked with in her career as far as ability, knowledge and dedication. She has found that focusing her work and continuing education solely on medicine in the feline species has allowed her to be a better veterinarian by narrowing the scope of her practice, not to mention that she finds cats to be the superior species to work with! When not at the cat clinic, Dr.Wasmer loves watching movies and playing games with her family, doing yoga, advocating for kids with autism, and taking care of her cat, Patrick, and dogs, Bear and Harry.
